Ferncast Launches “Mini” Line of Products

Aixtream Compact software now in smaller hardware boxes

Ferncast has announced the launch of its “Mini” category, which is part of its recently released Audio Codec Servers product class. According to the company, ACS combines its 24/7 aixtream Compact software with the convenience of traditional hardware boxes, now made even smaller.

“They are the handy, small-size, low-power consumption choice among Audio Codec Servers,” said Ferncast in a press release. “It is small enough to be easily transported but still allows up to 10 mono, stereo or multichannel programs.”

Seven Mini Compact products are now available, designed for seven fields of application, including studio-transmitter links, audio on demand, SIP communication and transcoding, among others. Find the full list of products and functions here

Some key features of the Mini products include AES67 input, in addition to other inputs via USB (analog, AES/EBU, MADI, Dante), plus quick access to the user interface by scanning a QR code.

While the Mini itself does not come equipped with any classical audio interfaces, Ferncast said it still supports I/O besides AES67 and Ravenna via third-party USB audio interfaces.

“Six USB ports ensure the operator can connect all audio interfaces and peripherals they require.”

The Mini boxes will be presented at IBC2022 in Amsterdam.
