MBA Now Accepting Student Broadcast Scholarship Applications

Applications now open for students and participating stations

Students in Massachusetts who have aspirations to go into broadcasting can now have an avenue to help them with their future studies, as the Massachusetts Broadcasters Association is now accepting applicants for its Student Broadcaster Scholarship.

The scholarships, which award students $2,000, are open to permanent residents of Massachusetts who plan on attending or are currently enrolled at an accredited institution of higher learning with the goal of pursuing a career in over-the-air broadcasting. A special scholarship of $3,000, in honor of former MBA President Al Sprague, will also be handed out.

To apply, applicants must complete the application and send it to MBA at [email protected] or by mail to P.O. Box 857, Clark, N.J. 07066. All applications must be sent or postmarked by April 14.

MBA is also currently accepting applications for participating MBA member stations, which will help evaluate applications. Participating stations are eligible to receive EEO credit and will be required to donate a prescribed amount of money to the scholarship program; help promote the program; and collect and evaluate applications. Deadline for submitting material to be a participating station is Feb. 24.

Applicants will be notified as soon as possible on whether or not they received a scholarship.
