10 Frick Finalists Named

Joe Nuxhall again leads fan balloting for baseball broadcasting honor.

The finalists for the Ford C. Frick Award have been named.

This is the award for excellence in baseball broadcasting from the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. The ballot includes three fan selections.

The fan faves were Joe Nuxhall, Jacques Doucet and Tom Cheek.

Seven nominees named by a Hall of Fame research committee are Billy Berroa, Ken Coleman, Dizzy Dean, Lanny Frattare, Tony Kubek, Graham McNamee and Dave Van Horne.

The winner will be announced in December; voting is by the 15 living award recipients and five broadcast historians/columnists.

Dave Van Horne is the only active broadcaster on the ballot. Frattare recently retired.

Dave Niehaus won last year.
