Despite Hurricane Irene washing over Hispaniola a week earlier, more than 40 broadcast engineers came to the Hotel Hilton in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, for a day-long broadcasting seminar.
Santo Domingo was the final stop in an 11-nation tour of broadcast equipment manufacturers coordinated by Miami-based 305 Broadcast.
Participating companies included AudioArts, Comrex, Elenos, Jampro, LBA, Orban, Radio 5, Staco Energy, Tieline, Video 5, Vorsis and Wheatstone.
