'The Jingle Book' Is Available

Some people are just crazy about jingles, particularly those heard on the radio back in the 1960s and early ’70s. Jingle buff and radio writer Ken R. is one of the fanatics. He’s touting a new book-and-CD package about jingles and his experiences in radio.
“The Jingle Book” is a 250-page softbound text. The author, who also contributes to Radio World, relates the history of companies such as PAMS, JAM, TM, Pepper Tanner and others, and writes about his experiences saving old recordings from the original PAMS after it closed.
Interviewees include Anita Kerr, Johnny Mann, Trella Hart, Tom Merriman, Jon Wolfert and Jim Clancy. Some of the content originally appeared in Radio World, and RW Editor Paul McLane helped with editing, although RW is not involved in the book’s publication or sale. A one-hour CD is included with each book. Price: $49 plus shipping; a $10 discount applies for orders before the end of August. Info: www.kenr.com
