More than 700 stations are transmitting a digital and analog signal with Ibiquity Digital’s IBOC technology; 100 of those are multicasting. Beasley’s WXKB(FM) in Cape Coral, Fla., was the 700th when it turned on the digital juice Jan. 26, according to Ibiquity.
Broadcasters are converting stations at the rate of more than one per day, the company said, adding that 6 in 10 Americans theoretically now have access to HD Radio broadcasts.
