Abacast and JacApps Work on Player

Pair to focus on beefing-up advertisement handling

Radio streaming services provider and product developer Abacast is working with jacApps, developer of mobile apps.

The focus is on developing Abacast-branded radio mobile apps for Abacast online radio customers. Of immediate interest is a mobile player with expanded advertising portals built into the player; the companies said the player will be integrated with the Abacast Radio Streaming Platform and provide features including rotating panels for multiple sponsorships and integration with the Abacast Ad Insertion System for in-stream audio ads with synchronized banners, pre-roll video ads and display ads.

JacApps is part of Jacobs Media.

Rob Green, interim CEO of Abacast, said the company looked at online radio app developers and liked the “deep radio domain experience” at jacAPPS, among other factors. He made the announcement with Paul Jacobs, vice president and general manager at jacApps.
