ABC Announces Live Election Coverage

Starts at 7 p.m., also on Slacker

Whoa! There’s an election coming up?

Yes, Sandy notwithstanding, broadcast organizations are finalizing their plans for covering the big election Tuesday.

ABC News Radio has announced its election evening coverage plans for its affiliates.

Leading the live coverage will be anchor Aaron Katersky, starting at 7 p.m. He will be joined by correspondents Ann Compton, Steven Portnoy, Vic Ratner and Alex Stone covering the presidential campaign.

In addition, according to a release, Cheri Preston and Richard Davies will provide analysis from the “ABC News DecisionDesk,” while Matt Gutman and Jim Ryan will report on voter turnout from Florida and Ohio. Reena Ninan will be in Washington reporting on the congressional, senatorial and gubernatorial races.

Coverage will continue at least until 1 a.m. Nov. 7. Short status reports will be issued each hour, starting at 7 p.m. Slacker will pick up ABC News Radio programming for its Internet audience.
