ABS Plans Video Effort

Hires Tom Layson as a consultant

Systems integrator Advanced Broadcast Solutions hired Tom Layson to head a Web-based marketing effort.

As a broadcast consultant for ABS, Layson will coordinate production of instructional videos that will be posted on its Web site and online outlets such as YouTube, the company stated.

Mark Siegel is president of ABS. He said the company will shoot short video segments in two studios at its new facility in SeaTac, Wash.

Layson worked as a TV news reporter and anchor, then launched New Media Solutions, which produced a variety of TV programming as well as marketing and training videos for clients in Washington. Layson will produce clips that will focus on video technology and include input from manufacturers and other professionals, ABS stated.

Advanced Broadcast Solutions provides services including consulting, project budgeting, project management, system and architectural design and engineering and installation.


Mobile Video

Kenwood has created prototype terrestrial DTV receivers based on the MPH (Mobile-Pedestrian-Handheld) in-band mobile DTV system, developed by Harris, LG Electronics and its U.S. R&D subsidiary, Zenith.

AEQ, Audemat Combine Efforts

Madrid-based AEQ will promote Audemat solutions to specific Spanish and Portuguese clients while Audemat, headquartered in Bordeaux-Mérignac, will promote AEQ products in France.
