A.I.R. Awards to Honor Atlanta Radio Industry

A.I.R. Awards to Honor Atlanta Radio Industry

The March of Dimes Ninth Annual A.I.R. Awards, a broadcast competition and ceremony that celebrates excellence in local radio broadcasting, is scheduled for Dec. 2 at the InterContinental Hotel in the Buckhead section of Atlanta. The show is planning a Radio City Hall theme, and will feature live music, a sit-down dinner and silent auction as Atlanta radio stations and personalities present and/or receive awards.
Categories include: Best Morning Show, Best Sports Coverage, Best News or Public Affairs Interview and Best Weekend Specialty Program.
The event also serves to provide support for March of Dimes, which has raised more than $5 million for birth defects and premature birth since the A.I.R. Awards 1987 inception. Funds are raised by ticket sales and a silent auction, which organizers say is the most anticipated part of the ceremony.
