Alaska Public Broadcasting Inc. has begun converting its 26 radio stations to IBOC. Much of the $3.5 million or so in grant funding is being spent on Harris transmitters, Moseley STLs, Shively Antennas and Orban processors, all sold through Harris. David Geesin is deputy director of APBI and Chuck Lakaytis is DOE.
(Ever had to disassemble a transmitter on an airplane tarmac because it wouldn’t fit in a DC6? These guys did. I’ll tell you more about the Alaskan conversions in an upcoming Radio World.)
