AP Launches Online Video Network

AP Launches Online Video Network

The Associated Press has launched a video service available to member Web sites. MSN provided the video engine.
“Our job is to bring the sites’ readers to the scene of the story,” said Brad Kalbfeld of AP. “When people read a story on the Web, they want to know what things looked like, what it felt like to be there.”
The stream went live on March 1, with features from New Orleans reporting on the post-Katrina Mardi Gras cleanup. Images were created to complement newspaper and broadcast Web sites’ stories.
New York’s all-news WINS(AM) took part in beta testing and is using the APOVN product online, AP stated.
