The FCC has accepted 253 applications for filing in the upcoming FM auction of 171 frequencies. Auction 62 was delayed because of Hurricane Katrina and is now set to begin Jan. 12.
The agency said 81 applications are incomplete and five were rejected. The rejected noncoms were in competition for commercial applicants for commercial frequencies. Those whose applications are considered incomplete may re-file.
Initial payments are due Dec. 2.
