Backbone Networks Corp. announced a “strategic rebranding.” It will now go by Backbone Broadcast in its public identity.
The change comes alongside the launch of a new domain, backbonebroadcast.com and rollout of the a broadcast system for low-latency in-venue, live event, fan audio on iOS/Android phones called Backbone SoundSystem.
The announcement was made by CEO Richard Cerny.
“Backbone Broadcast reflects our ongoing commitment to providing cutting-edge broadcasting solutions that empower radio stations, sports venues and content creators to deliver seamless, high-quality audio experiences anywhere, anytime,” the company said. The new domain is intended as a hub for the company’s services and resources.
Cerny said the rebranding allows the company to align its identity with its cloud-based broadcasting services.
Backbone Networks Corp. remains its legal name. The company offers internet-based technology for audio/radio production, communications, syndication, streaming and distribution.
