FM privatization continues in India, and supplier Broadcast Electronics said SUN TV and four other broadcasters have ordered transmitters for 57 new frequencies in the past month.

Seventy BE transmission systems have been ordered by private FM broadcasters in India so far. The company said BE is "in the lead ahead of other radio equipment manufacturers for the number of systems ordered," quoting its representative in the market, Technomedia Solutions.

Television broadcaster SUN TV ordered 38 of the FM systems for its Kal Radio Ltd and South Asia Ltd operations. Frank Massa is Asia Pacific sales manager at BE.
