David Hyatt, President, and Jim Moody, Director of Engineering for the Motor Racing Network, will be at the Broadcast Electronics booth this NAB show to talk about NASCAR racing, sports broadcasting, and new digital audio techniques. Hyatt and Moody will be at BE booth N2604 on the morning of April 8 and 9 to give their insider’s view of digital audio automation and production requirements for the fast-paced, quick-demand environment of broadcasting a NASCAR event.
Discussion will include the technical challenges of converting trucks into multi-track recording studios as well as live broadcast studios used for race coverage and audio production of many of the network’s program offerings. MRN’s new premier studio on wheels includes a customized AudioVault as the digital audio production and automation engine.
“This setup lets us effectively stay on top of the race broadcast, produce elements such as driver interviews or outside production requests and create network programming feeds at the same time,” said Moody. “Re-purpose of audio elements can be up on the satellite within seconds after occurrence, all while broadcasting our normal race programming.”
