Belden is pushing to accelerate its growth in the industrial market.
The company recently completed a purchase of the assets of Lumberg Automation Components GmbH, part of The Lumberg Group, for an undisclosed cash price. Lumberg is based in Schalksmühle, Germany, and also has production facilities in the United States.
Lumberg Automation is a supplier of industrial connectors, cord-sets and field bus communication components for factory automation machinery. 2006 revenues for the company were approximately US$75 million.
Belden said the deal complements the industrial connectivity portfolio of Hirschmann Automation and Control, which it recently acquired.
