Belden Highlights Name Tweak

Belden said it wants to unify its corporate identify with its flagship brand.
The company had been known as Belden CDT since a stock merger of Belden Inc. and Cable Design Technologies Corp. in 2004.
“With the introduction of its new corporate identity, Belden marks its evolution from a wire and cable product supplier to a full-service provider of signal transmission solutions,” it stated. “To reflect the company’s expanded product position as a supplier of signal transmission solutions, Belden also introduces a new brandline: Belden – Sending All the Right Signals.”
President/CEO John Stroup said the Belden brand “is one of our most powerful assets.”
The company recently announced plans to establish a new manufacturing facility in Mexico and to close two of its cable manufacturing plants in the United States by the end of 2007. The plants are in Tompkinsville, Ky., and Fort Mill, S.C. The Nogales plant will be the company’s third manufacturing site in Mexico.
