Bid4Spots to Auction for ‘Independent Internet Radio’

Bid4Spots plans to launch its first reverse auction for independent Internet radio next month.

Bid4Spots plans to launch its first reverse auction for independent Internet radio next month.

The company markets this as a new approach that will “make selling ads a reality for the estimated 25,000 independent online broadcasters.”

RW reported late last year that the company had signed 200 Internet radio stations in the first month of announcing its reverse auction for buying and selling the advertising. It said then it hopes to have 2,000 stations by the end of March. Bid4Spots also operates a reverse auction marketplace for terrestrial radio.

The California-based company is using Spacial Audio’s StreamAds as its platform to schedule, track and manage the advertising for broadcasters. In the reverse auctions, stations compete for advertisers’ dollars and bid ad rates down.
