BNR Expands Dalet Platform

BNR first implemented the Dalet radio system in 1997 at two regional centers. The BNR world service, Radio Bulgaria, implemented Dalet technology in 1998 and, by 2000, all but one of the BNR regional centers had installed Dalet systems.

Bulgarian public-service broadcaster Bâlgarsko Natsionalno Radio (BNR) is implementing a broad extension of its Dalet production and playout platform.

“For 10 years, BNR has relied on Dalet comprehensive media systems to digitalize its production and to store, manage, broadcast and archive audio data,” said Konstantin Kunov, BNR director of technology. “Our partnership has allowed us to keep our technological capabilities in unison with the fast developing global multimedia landscape.”

The BNR Horizont program implemented Dalet Radio Suite in 2007, and the broadcaster has used it since to produce all national radio news. Also in 2007, BNR regional channel Radio Sofia deployed its entire production platform and 24-hour programming to Dalet Radio Suite.

“With this Dalet Radio Suite extension, BNR is really expanding its production and playout platform to embed media asset management across its digital workflows so as to ensure consistent metadata tracking,” said Dalet Chief Operating Officer Stéphane Schlayen.
