Station operator Broadcast Partners has won the tender for the new regional DAB+ network in the southwestern Netherlands, according to Radio.nl. The aim is for the network to be operational by May 1, 2015, making it the fifth regional network to roll out in the country.
The DAB+ multiplexing allotments are subdivided into east (channel 6B – Groningen, Drenthe, Overijssel, Gelderland), (kanaal 7A – Noord-Brabant and Limburg); west (kanaal 8A – Noord-Holland Zuid, Zuid-Holland, Utrecht and Flevoland); northwest (kanaal 9D – Noord-Holland noord and Friesland); and southwest (kanaal 9D – Zeeland).
Channel 9D will include Omroep Zeeland, Omroep Brabant, Radio Rijnmond and Puur NL. The remaining capacity on this network will soon be distributed by Ministery of Economic Affairs.
