The Broadcasters Foundation of America selected Jim Thompson as its new president, effective Aug. 4.
BFA began a search last October for a president to continue the work of its current leader, Gordon H. Hastings.
Thompson is active in the broadcast community, having held positions such as VP/GM of Philadelphia’s KYW(TV) from 1985 to 1989; president, Group W Radio, 1989; partner of Liberty Broadcasting; CEO of Hibernia Communications; and CEO, Craven-Thompson Communications.
The Vietnam veteran is a graduate of Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program.
