The board of the Broadcasters Foundation of America voted to rename its annual golf tournament in honor of the foundation’s chairman.
The Philip J. Lombardo Charity Golf Tournament will take place April 11 at the Bali Hai Golf Club in Las Vegas. The tournament is held in conjunction with the NAB Show. Proceeds aid broadcasters affected by disasters, sickness or personal tragedy.
Vice Chairman of the Broadcasters Foundation and also CEO of Katz Media Stu Olds said, “The board felt that Phil’s dedication to broadcasting, and his tireless efforts to help those in need, merits this well-deserved recognition.”
Lombardo, expressing thanks, said, “I am a firm believer in giving back and the Broadcasters Foundation provides the perfect opportunity to help colleagues in our industry who have fallen on hard times.” He is the founder and CEO of Citadel Communications, a former joint chairman of the NAB and former president and CEO of Corinthian Communications.
