FCC Releases More Guidance on 2024 Fees

The commission published a fact sheet for media licensees

Read an important update to this story here.

We told you earlier this week that the FCC has finalized regulatory fees for U.S. radio stations for fiscal 2024. Here’s a followup.

First, the commission has published a fact sheet for media licensees. At six pages it is a lot shorter and easier to read than the full order. You can download that as a Word document or PDF.

Also, it has published procedures for filing requests for a waiver, reduction, deferral or installment plan.

Regulatory fee payments must be received no later than 11:59 p.m., Eastern Daylight Time, on Sept. 26. If you miss the deadline, you’ll face a 25% late fee plus interest, unless you have made other arrangements.

The FCC has decided not to extend temporary COVID-based relief measures it adopted in prior years.

Entities that are unable to pay their fee in full by the deadline can seek to pay under installment plans, with an interest charge, by emailing regfeerelief@fcc.gov.
