Can We ‘.tel’ You?

Domain name window opens.

The window has opened for registering “.tel” domain names, a new identifier for repositories of corporate and personal contact information.

The “.tel” letters would follow the final dot of any domain name. For example, in the domain name www.example.com, the top-level domain is “com.”

Kevin Goldberg of the law firm Fletcher, Heald & Hildreth says in a blog column that businesses might want to think about registering their business names, trade names and trademarks as “.tel” domain names, alongside any .com, .org, .edu or other domains they own, to make it easier for folks to access corporate info from a handheld device.
