Canada’s biggest independently owned radio company has acquired an interest in the Martz Communications Group. Standard Radio Inc. is a subsidiary of Standard Broadcasting Corp. Ltd. It now has a 25% minority interest in Martz, which has nine stations in upstate New York.
Standard is based in Toronto and operates 51 stations. “This investment represents a platform for Standard to invest in and enter the radio broadcasting business in the United States,” stated President/CEO Gary Slaight. Dick Foreman brokered the deal.
