Castelli Takes Higher Profile at Clear Channel

New sales/marketing group is intended to unify company’s media resources

Clear Channel has created a new sales and marketing group, aiming to “unify and align” its marketing offerings under an entity headed by former AOL executive Tim Castelli.

The company sees this as part of its efforts to become an integrated multi-platform company. The change means Castelli will play an even bigger role at the company.

Before Clear Channel he played key roles at AOL, Google, Rolling Stone and Ziff Davis Media. This week he was promoted from EVP of digital sales to president of national sales, marketing and partnerships. He’ll oversee the integration of national sales and partnership operations for the company’s National Platform divisions including Digital, Strategic Partnerships, Clear Channel Connections, Clear Channel Radio sales and Premiere Radio Networks sales.

He’ll report to John Hogan, chairman/CEO of Clear Channel Media and Entertainment.

Also announced were Holly Lang as senior vice president of marketing solutions and Chris Monteleone as senior vice president, event sponsorship sales and development. Kevin Dorsey, previously president of Traffic, Navigation and Mobility, expands to oversee Katz Media Group and Premiere Radio Networks affiliate sales as president of National Media Groups. Hogan called it “a real dream team.”

Charlie Rahilly leaves the company; he was president of national advertiser platforms.
