Clear Channel Media & Entertainment and record label BBR Music Group have signed a revenue-sharing deal.
Details were not released, however Clear Channel says the deal is similar to the multiplatform arrangement reached last fall between the broadcaster and Warner Music Group — the first alliance between a major music company and the broadcaster.
The new agreement covers revenue from Clear Channel’s broadcast radio and iHeartRadio streaming stations, presumably in exchange for favorable music licensing fees.
BBR is an independent country music label representing Broken Bow Records and Stoney Creek Records.
Clear Channel has also reached similar market-based agreements with independent music companies including Big Machine Label Group, Glassnote Entertainment Group, eOne, Dualtone, DashGo, Black River Entertainment, rpm Entertainment, Robbins Entertainment, Naxos, Wind-up Records, Fearless Records, Zojak World Wide and Suburban Noize Records, as well as recording artists Fleetwood Mac.
