Clear Channel Juggles Engineering Structure, Duties

Clear Channel Radio has created a new regional engineering operating structure. It promoted 10 regional engineers to vice president and given them more responsibilities, including supervising the HD Radio rollout for Clear Channel stations.
The positions are called regional vice president of engineering. Promoted were Allan Brace, Ben Brinitzer, Tom Cox, Gil Garcia, Mike Gideon, Mike Guidotti, Paul Jellison, Ken Jones, Dan Mettler and Randy Mullinax.
The moves come partly as a result of Clear Channel laying off Al Kenyon, former senior vice president for projects and technology, reported by RW Online earlier.
The new RVPs, involved in buildouts before, will see those responsibilities expanded and still shared with local engineers, Jeff Littlejohn, VP of engineering for Clear Channel Radio, told RW earlier.
“The alignment of our engineering operations is now consistent with the decentralized structure of our station group,” stated John Hogan, CEO of Clear Channel Radio this week.
“Clear Channel is the industry leader in investing in technology, facilities and system upgrades. Under this new structure the RVPs of Engineering will serve as a valuable resource for local station managers, ensuring they have the latest technology at their fingertips along with the highest quality equipment and signals.”
