Clear Channel Wins Placement in Traffic Data Deal

ASUS picks it as built-in traffic provider for nav device; customers won’t have to renew.

Clear Channel Radio said its Total Traffic Network was chosen by ASUS as its traffic provider for the launch of its first portable navigation device.

ASUS technology is used in motherboards in many desktop computers. “ASUS enters the navigation market this year with the recently launched R700(t), which features a built-in subscription for CCTTN’s data and does not need renewal,” Clear Channel stated.

In the announcement, Jeff Littlejohn, who leads distribution development for Clear Channel Radio, stated, “We are pleased to see the PND market moving in the direction of the one-time subscription model, something that ASUS has adopted and we see as a big benefit to the consumer.”

He also noted that CCRTTN recently passed a half million subscribers for traffic data.
