CPB said a Senate appropriations subcommittee approved its version of a fiscal 2008 bill that provides funding for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
The legislation provides funding for CPB at roughly the same level as a House appropriations subcommittee bill, $420 million for CPB’s advance appropriation for FY 2010 and in FY 2008 $29.7 million for digital conversion and $26.75 million for the public radio interconnection system.
The appropriations committees in the two houses are expected to consider the bills after July 4.
