Cumulus Announces New Positions

Hurley goes digital; Pezzano is in Youngstown; Schock moves to San Francisco

Kelli Hurley

Cumulus Media announced the appointment of Kelli Hurley to vice president of Digital Sales Division for Westwood One in Chicago; Jeff Pezzano as vice president of sales for Cumulus in Youngstown, Ohio; and Bryan Schock is operations manager/program director of KSAN(FM) and KFOG(FM) in San Francisco.

At radio program syndicator and services provider Westwood One Kelli Hurley will oversee sales efforts for the company’s expanding portfolio of digital products — including streaming audio, on-demand, and podcasting — and will continue to develop new content partnerships. She is based in Chicago and will report to Westwood One President Steve Shaw.

“Kelli’s immense passion, sharp focus, and extensive knowledge in this space will help us to grow and develop new partnerships, and will provide great value to our agency clients,” said Shaw.

Jeff Pezzano

According to the release, Hurley has more than 10 years of network radio experience. She started in Los Angeles managing clients and agencies for Premiere Networks, United Stations and Westwood One. In 2011, she transitioned from network radio to digital audio as a director of sales for TargetSpot. Most recently, Hurley worked at Premiere Networks as a national account manager before returning to Westwood One in 2015 as the company’s vice president of National Partnerships and Digital Activation, Midwest.

Jeff Pezzano, in his newly-created position, will lead sales development and strategy for Cumulus Media’s eight radio stations in Youngstown, effective April 1. He joins Cumulus from Dix Communications Co. in Kent, Ohio, where he was vice president of advertising, sales and marketing. Prior to that, Pezzano was advertising director for The Blade newspaper in Toledo, Ohio.

“We’re very pleased to add Ohio media veteran Jeff Pezzano to our team in Youngstown,” said Brad Marshall, vice president/market manager for Cumulus-Youngstown. “He has a wealth of experience in advertising and digital sales.”

Pezzano said that he was excited to be joining Cumulus Media in Youngstown. “I grew up here,” he said. “I’m happy to be back serving the communities and businesses of northeast Ohio with our great mix of music and programming.”

Bryan Schock

At San Francisco’s KSAN(FM)/The Bone and KFOG(FM), Bryan Schock will be operations manager/program director, effective April 4.

“Bryan’s vision and passion for KFOG and KSAN are unrivaled. We are confident that his plans will exceed the expectations of both of our audiences,” said Justin Wittmayer, vice president/market manager for Cumulus Media-San Francisco.

According to the release, Schock programmed radio stations for the past two decades, serving as program director for 101.5 KGB(FM)/Classic Rock, San Diego; XTRA(FM)/91X Alternative, San Diego; 105.5 KJAC(FM)/Jack-FM, Denver; and KNRX 92X, Denver. Schock’s 33-year radio career also includes programming and on-air positions at WRXP(FM) in New York, KNAC(FM) in Los Angeles, WLZR(FM) in Milwaukee, WHVY(FM) in Baltimore and KCUV(FM) in Denver.

“I grew up in California and I love rock music,” said Schock. “Talk about landing the perfect gig! I can’t wait to take KFOG to new heights in the triple A world while keeping a hand in my rockin’ roots with The Bone.”
