Cumulus is apparently liable for a total of $14,000 in fines for Equal Employment Opportunity violations at stations in Georgia. The agency also imposed reporting conditions.
The involved stations are WIFN(FM), formerly WAYS; WDDO(AM); WAYS(AM), formerly WWFN; WDEN(FM); WMAC(AM); and WLZN(FM), formerly WMKS, all in Macon; as well as WMGB(FM), Montezuma and WPEZ(FM), Jeffersonville.
The FCC says they didn’t comply with its EEO rules regarding record-keeping, recruitment source information, interviewee information, EEO initiative, self-assessment and public file requirements. The agency says the stations had poor EEO record-keeping for a two-year period.
Cumulus has 30 days to either pay the fine or seek a reduction or cancellation.
