Cumulus Media has named Chip Arledge as operations manager for its five-station cluster in Shreveport-Bossier City, La. Additionally, the company tapped Kathy Brown as PD for WWWZ(FM) and WMGL(FM) in Charleston, S.C.
Arledge will also serve as program director for KRMD(AM/FM). He joins Cumulus from Eagle Radio Group/Results Radio Network in Marquette, Mich., where he was director of commotion and product development. Prior to that, he was operations manager/PD for WYSF(FM) and WZRR(FM) in Birmingham, Ala, and has held operations manager/program director positions for stations in markets including Fayetteville, Ark., and Chillicothe, Ohio. Arledge was also regional brand manager of adult contemporary formats for the former Clear Channel Radio.
Brown joins Cumulus from iHeartMedia St. Louis, where she was PD for KMJM(FM) and KATZ(AM). She was previously assistant PD at CBS Radio Atlanta’s WVEE(FM). Prior to that, Brown was ops manager for Radio One’s WWIN(AM/FM), WERQ(FM) and WOLB(AM) in Baltimore, and became regional PD during her 14-year tenure, serving in markets including Washington; Richmond, Va., and Baltimore, as well as Augusta, Ga., Detroit and Los Angeles.
Cumulus Media combines local programming with nationally syndicated media, sports and entertainment brands through its 445 owned-and-operated stations broadcasting in 90 markets and more than 8,200 broadcast radio stations affiliated with its Westwood One network and numerous digital channels.
