Cumulus’ Pizzati Announces Retirement Plans

Senior vice president retires this month

After 30 years in the biz, Cumulus Media Senior Vice President Gary Pizzati will retire from the company and from radio broadcasting in August of this year.

“Gary’s contributions to Cumulus cannot be overstated. He will be greatly missed by his Cumulus colleagues,” Cumulus Media President and CEO Mary Berner said in the release.

Pizzati has been employed by Cumulus for 18 years, a time he described in the announcement as “extremely rewarding.” He began as a market manager based in Atlanta in 1998 and was elevated to senior vice president in 2005, at which point he oversaw 27 markets. Prior to working for Cumulus, he had worked as on-air talent and programming.

He is a past Cumulus President’s Cup winner.

Cumulus Media combines local programming with nationally syndicated media, sports and entertainment brands to deliver content choices through its 452 owned-and-operated stations, more than 8,200 broadcast radio stations affiliated with its Westwood One network and numerous digital channels.
