Dr. Sanjay Gupta, a practicing neurosurgeon who became a household name as chief medical correspondent at CNN, will be featured in four daily programs through Cumulus Media Networks beginning in May.
Gupta’s programs, which will run on Cumulus’ more than 4,000 affiliate radio stations, reaching approximately 120 million listeners, will instruct Americans on ways to live healthier. Two programs will run on more traditional news outlets and two will run on music/entertainment stations, which tend to be more popular with younger audiences.
Over a long and distinguished career in both medicine and reporting, Gupta has reported for CNN on topics such as brain injury, disaster recovery, health care reform, fitness, military medicine and HIV/AIDS.
He also regularly contributes to CBS’s “60 Minutes” and has written the best-selling books “Chasing Life” (2007) and “Cheating Death” (2009).
