Dolby Laboratories appointed Michael Rockwell to the position of senior vice president, worldwide engineering.
Rockwell had previously been senior vice president and chief technology officer at Avid Technology. Prior to that, he served as chief architect of software engineering at Digidesign, which was acquired by Avid’s audio division in 1995. While at Digidesign he served as the technical lead for Pro Tools.
Before Digidesign, Rockwell was the president and owner of a software business and audio/visual production company, Rockwell Digital. Early in his career as a freelance recording engineer, he worked on projects such as the television show “The Wonder Years” and the films “Cadillac Man” and “Cocktail.”
