Organization offers educational and networking opportunities for broadcasters

The European Broadcasting Union will be at IBC2013.

The organization will demonstrate various developments of interest to broadcasters, including binaural audio over headphones, EBU quality control checks, a networked studio proof-of-concept from BBC R&D, prototype scalable cloud infrastructure and progress with digital and hybrid radio.

The EBU theatre will also feature presentations about topics such as the “QC: Quite Clever,” “Sustainable Tech in Broadcasting,” “Broadcasting from the Cloud” and “Digital Radio Mondiale.”

Additionally, new EBU Director of Technology Simon Fell will chair the “Public Service Media: Innovation and Inspiration” conference session on Saturday, Sept. 14 at 3:30 p.m.

There will be other opportunities to interact with EBU at IBC2013. The organization will again host the Loudness Breakfast on the morning of Monday, Sept. 16 at 8 a.m., and then that evening it will host a drinks reception, where attendees will have the opportunity to meet Fell.
