EMF Picks Up Houston FM

Air 1 now heard in KHJK

Educational Media Foundation is buying a big FM signal in Texas, putting its Air 1 format in the nation’s sixth-largest radio market.

EMF will acquire KHJK(FM) from AR Broadcast Holdings for $5 million cash at closing. The station most recently aired adult alternative programming; it now carries EMF’s Christian “Air 1” format.

KHJK in LaPorte, Texas, serves Houston on 103.7 MHz with 100 kW at 1,936 feet above average terrain.

Brokers Larry Patrick & Greg Guy of Patrick Communications said an affiliation agreement commenced July 17.
