Entercom Controller Announces Retirement Plan, Interim Replacement

And Portland’s KGON has a new PD

Entercom Communications says Principal Accounting Officer and Controller Eugene Levin will retire from his role at the end of 2018. Assistant Controller and Treasurer James Hamill will serve as interim principal accounting officer and controller. Also, Bobby Duncan has been promoted to program director of KGON(FM) in Portland.

After more than four decades as the broadcaster’s controller, three decades as its treasurer and one decade as principal accounting officer, Levin will transition to a consulting role.

“We are deeply thankful for Gene’s service to the company during his 40+ year career at Entercom,” company President/CEO David Field said in the announcement. “He has made an enormous contribution since the company’s early days through his leadership, knowledge, expertise and indefatigable work ethic.”

For his part, Hamill is an eight-year alum of KPMG, where he served in roles including senior manager. He also worked as the assistant controller for a public company in the energy sector before working for Entercom.

And Duncan began his career as an on-air personality for KLOL(FM) in Houston. He has also held management and consulting roles for KKRW (formerly KQBT) in Houston, as well as WXMX and WKIM in Memphis and WGRD in Grand Rapids, Mich.
