Clear Channel, iBiquity Digital and Nokia are among the organizations that will talk about TMC and TPEG technology at an event in Seattle this month.
TMC, or Traffic Message Channel, is an application of FM RDS used for broadcasting traffic information. Transport Protocol Experts Group (TPEG) specifications offer a method for transmitting multimodal traffic and travel information, regardless of client type, location or required delivery channel, which could be HD Radio, DAB, Internet, Wi-Fi or other channels, according to organizers.
The information session is hosted by traffic services provider Inrix as part of committee meetings of the Traveller Information Services Association, taking place on March 19 and 20.
