Some engineers may qualify for help in paying their way to the Public Radio Engineering Conference.
NPR’s Technology Training Initiative is offering scholarships for qualified applicants who are members of minority groups or personnel working in underserved areas – defined as rural stations or small and/or minority stations – to subsidize the costs of attending the PREC in Las Vegas, which takes place immediately prior to the spring NAB show. The application deadline is March 12.
The scholarship amounts are up to $1,000, to be used to help defray the costs of PREC registration, the Engineering Dinner and hotel accommodations. Exhibit passes for the first day of the NAB show are included.
The scholarships are for people early in their public radio careers who work in engineering, operations or technical fields, and who have not attended PREC before. Students working in technical areas at public stations also may apply.
Other restrictions apply. For information look under the “Featured” tab at www.prss.org.
