Yep, Al Franken is running for Senate as a Dem from Minnesota.
The Washington Post reports Franken hopes to unseat Republican first-term Sen. Norm Coleman, but he must win his party’s backing first.
“Nothing means more to me than making government work better for the working families of this state, and over the next 20 months, I look forward to proving to you that I take these issues seriously,” he was quoted as saying. Franken is 55.
