Friends Remember Connor

Industry notables take part in service.

TransLanTech’s David Reaves passes along a note from services last weekend for Matthew Connor.

“I was joined by fellow engineers and former co-workers from all over the country, including Gary Blau (Lincoln Media Services, Miami), Mager Kizziah (Mager Systems, Phoenix), Jeff Loughridge, (CBS Radio engineering in Washington) and lots of other friends of Matt,” Reaves wrote. “At the service, a special remembrance written by Frank Foti was read by Matt’s friend Lisa Barr.

“Matt’s death was a shock to all of us, and he will be greatly missed,” Reaves continued. “He was an extraordinary engineer whose winning smile and enthusiasm for broadcasting touched a lot of people.”

Also, two corrections to our story about Connor last week: It incorrectly described him as co-inventor of the Ariane Audio Processor. Connor was TransLanTech’s sales manager and helped build and market early units. Reaves’ name also was misspelled.
