Garcia Joins SBS Board

He has been chief financial officer since 1984.

Spanish Broadcasting System says its chief financial officer, Joseph A. Garcia, was voted to its board of directors, effective immediately.

He has served as CFO of SBS since 1984. Additionally, he was named executive vice president in 1996, and became secretary in 1999.

Garcia is responsible for the company’s financial affairs, operational and administrative matters, as well as investor relations. He has led several acquisitions of broadcasting stations and other assets during his tenure, as well as the development and execution of major financial transactions, including taking SBS public in 1999.

Prior to joining SBS, Garcia spent 13 years in international financial planning positions with Philip Morris (Altria) and Revlon, where he was manager of financial planning for Revlon-Latin America.
