The Broadcasting Board of Governors will conduct an “international search” for a new president to replace Jeffrey Gedmin.
Gedmin will leave at the end of February after four years as president of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty to become CEO and president of Legatum Institute in London, part of the Legatum investment group.
The BBG said Gedmin “has overseen RFE/RL’s expansion of broadcasts to critical countries, its significant development of new media [and] the corporate relocation to a state-of-the-art broadcast headquarters in Prague, and has served as a passionate defender of press freedom.”
BBG oversees U.S. international broadcasting.
