Global Security Systems and Health Pathways Inc. have formed a new company.
The entity is called Guardian Global Communications Systems; its niche will be to provide “national healthcare security through a nationwide alert and notification system.”
Health Pathways is a healthcare info services and technology holding company. GSS is a systems integrator, service provider and manufacturer of homeland security and natural disaster first alert systems.
Target users of the new venture are first responders such as EMTs and ER teams who can use laptops or PDAs to assist in response to medical emergencies, natural disasters or bioterrorism threats.
GSS said in the announcement that the new company will use its FM Alert and Notification Systems, and the national FM tower infrastructure it uses, along with Health Pathways’ Healthcare Emergency Preparedness systems to disseminate healthcare messages during medical crises.
The system includes FM broadcasting networks and the RDS, DARC or IBOC data infrastructure. GSSNet provides software plug-ins for appliances using FM receiver integrated devices and operating software for radio automation systems.
