I am writing to compliment you on your recent article in Radio World from June 6 on double-hop E-Skip propagation.
I worked professionally in radio broadcasting for a number of years and continue to visit stations often in my role an advertising producer. Like many, I’ve been fascinated by the medium since childhood and a key part of that was the experience of “skip.” Hearing distant radio and TV stations during the summer months led me to explore the science of propagation.
Personally, I’ve only experienced double-hop E-Skip a couple of times and knew little about it. Your article was the first in-depth study of the phenomena I had read. What I especially enjoyed was the way that you incorporated audio clips into the article online, allowing me to hear the examples you were discussing.
Stories like this allow me to hear it for myself. It adds another layer of understanding that makes an article leap off the screen.
Well done. I look forward to more of your fascinating insights into the medium we both clearly love.
