Hal Kneller Heads to Nautel

Company sees him as a 'digital radio evangelist'

Moving quickly to grab an industry pro recently on the loose, transmitter manufacturer Nautel has added Hal Kneller to its staff.

He’ll have the title of market development manager and will be based in Florida. The company said he’ll manage the introduction of several new products among other duties.

Kneller promoted digital radio as director of international broadcast business development for iBiquity Digital, a position that was recently eliminated in cost-cutting, as RW has reported. Earlier he worked in senior positions at Harris Broadcast including digital radio business development manager, public radio initiatives manager and district sales manager.

“As with other members of Nautel’s sales team, Hal brings years of hands-on radio engineering experience gained at WGCU, WGSM, WCTO, WPAT and five of his own stations,” the company stated. “Hal’s relationship with Nautel also stretches back to his time as a station owner when he purchased a Nautel transmitter for WKII.” President/CEO Peter Conlon called Kneller “one of the household names in our industry.”

Paul McLane comments further in RW’s blog.
