Several equipment companies and broadcasters will take part in an HD Radio demonstration in Lucerne, Switzerland next month in what’s being dubbed the first “public” demo of the technology in Europe.
Organizer Ruoss AG says those who take part in the June 28 demo will ride a bus through the “topographically challenging” Swiss Alps and be able to hear an HD Radio broadcast.
Equipment companies Broadcast Electronics, APT, Audemat-Aztec, Sanyo and technology developer Ibiquity Digital are taking part in the demo. Ibiquity’s overseas efforts are explored in more depth in an upcoming issue of Radio World.
